Tagalog word of the day: lindol

And what, you might ask (if you don’t speak Tagalog!) is a lindol?  I’ll give you a hint…it rippled through our office building about 10 minutes ago…(and no, it’s not office gossip!)  Another hint…6.2 magnitude.  Give up?  It’s an earthquake!

That’s right kids, I just survived my very first Philippine earthquake. I was standing talking to some folks and the whole building swayed VERY noticeably for about 30 seconds.  (Glad I wasn’t in the elevator for that…yipes!)  And I might be a tiny bit nervous about our office being on the 10th floor of a still-under-construction building now…but that’ll pass, I’m sure.

OK, yeah, that’s all…kinda anticlimactic for my first (and let’s hope, only?) earthquake experience in the Phils.  But I’m still feeling kinda queasy & off balance…that just felt weird!

Haven’t heard anything about any damage yet…keep your eyes on the news, I guess!
